AYLESFORD completed a double yesterday at Windsor under Shane Kelly. He looked impressive in his previous start coming from last to first to gain a narrow win, however he was ridden closer to the pace yesterday and was even more impressive. The win never looked in doubt as Aylesford loomed up on the outside of runners, with Shane barely moving a muscle until the final furlong where he went clear to win by 2 1/4 lengths.
He is not totally straightforward at home and our travelling head girl, Jitka, has done a wonderful job settling him in his daily exercise. On race days Aylesford has to be treated with kid gloves to get him to post quietly, a plan which all went smoothly. He will now get a handicap mark, although handicaps may be out of the question as he looks a real exciting prospect. Well done must also go to Pat Gallagher, his owner and Peter Crate who sourced him.
