We started off the New Year in the best possible way with another win from the gallant KING OF THE SOUTH at Southwell on New Years Day. Having been settled near the rear of the field from a wide draw, jockey Callum Shepherd cruised up to the leaders in the home straight. He looked a sure fire winner from 2f out but wasn't able to pick up the lead until the final strides and luck was on our side as he just got his nose in front to win by the shortest of margins.

He will likely now be rated too high for handicaps and we can begin to look for Black Type options for him. Now the All- Weather Finals have moved to Newcastle, this will hopefully be a serious option for him at the end of the all- weather season.
