It was a day to remember at Newcastle today for owners Andrew and Helen Hetherton as their once raced colt CHECKANDCHALLENGE produced an impressive performance to take the Listed Burradon Stakes on just his second start. Ridden patiently in rear by Daniel Tudhope, he was given time to warm up into his race and when asked to come through with his effort he made easy work of it, passing all of his rivals effortlessly and winning by 1 1/2 lengths cosily.

He is a horse who has always shown plenty of ability at home, but he had to step up on his previous victory in a maiden last November. He has an entry in the 2000 Guineas which is not too far away now. He is an extremely exciting horse to have in the yard, with unknown potential still to be revealed and we look forward to the season ahead with him!
