ROYAL VELVET was drawn in stall 5 and jumped nicely to be in touch with the leaders. She made headway in the 7f fillies' Handicap at Newcastle just over a furlong out and edged slightly to the right but put in a tough performance to hold on and get her head in front just at the right time. This was her first run of the season and we are all delighted that she was able to win on her owner's Birthday!
