The long journey up to Newcastle was made worthwhile yesterday as SPANISH KISS gained his third win of the season by the smallest of margins. He in fact dead heated with a tough Mark Johnson trained horse, who was a game rival and made us fight right to the line. Spanish Kiss was equally as tough and they both passed the line together. It was his first try over 2m and he looked to want every yard of the trip, even at a stiff, galloping course like Newcastle.
He is still entered for the Cesarewitch next month and judging by the way he saw out the trip yesterday and if we get a break in the weather, he is sure to be a live contender. Hopefully he can keep on progressing, especially with Autumn now in sight, he will get his preferred ease in the ground.
