THINK OF A NAME shed his maiden tag on the fourth time of asking when winning the 5f Novice Stakes at Bath on Thursday afternoon under champion jockey Oisin Murphy.
The 2yo colt by Kodiac jumped well and sat in 2nd until 1f out, ultimately pulling half a length clear of the Gary Moore trained Rory Rocket. The heavy going did not seem to inconvenience him and he could be effective at either the 5f or 6f trip. We’d be hopeful of further improvement next year with this win coming off an official rating of 75. Well done to his connections.
This was our 35th domestic winner of the year, making this our best year to date in terms of number of winners. Our strike rate for the year is at an impressive 18% (52% winners to individual runners). Thank you to my fantastic team at home and to all of my loyal owners!
