JUMEIRAH STORM shed his maiden tag on just his second start at Doncaster on Friday afternoon, producing a determined performance to land the 6f Novice Stakes.
The 2yo son of Lucky Vega justified his position as the 9/4 favourite, travelling strongly throughout the race under jockey Neil Callan. He broke sharply, settled into a prominent position, and always looked comfortable among the 11‑runner field.
As the runners quickened approaching the final two furlongs, JUMEIRAH STORM moved smoothly into contention. When asked for an effort inside the final furlong, he responded with purpose, edging slightly right but maintaining enough momentum to enable him to hold off the late surge of long‑shot War Gaming to score by ½ length. There is sure to be further improvement in this colt as he learns his trade.
