BASED put in an impressive performance at Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening to land the 7f Handicap by 2 lengths, with Cieren Fallon producing a strong and well-timed ride.
He settled in touch with the leaders before making steady headway approaching the two-furlong marker. Ridden up the centre inside the final furlong, he responded willingly to take the lead inside the final 110 yards and pulled clear with plenty in hand.
7 furlongs looks to be his optimum trip at present, although the way he finished his race off might suggest that a step up to a mile could be within range in time.
