ROYAL VELVET made it back-to-back wins and clearly loved the going at Lingfield on Saturday when winning the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes over 7f. This was her ninth career victory from 21 starts, illustrating what a genuine and consistent filly she is. Produced with a strong ride by William Buick, she showed a tremendous turn of foot to win in good style. ROYAL VELVET has climbed through the ranks of Handicaps to Group class and just keeps progressing.
Now a Group 3 winner, she has earned valuable black type, which is especially meaningful as she is a homebred of her owner, Miss Susie Hartley. We now have some exciting decisions to make as to where she will go next!
