Dawn breaks maiden in Kempton twilight
on 08 August 2018

Progressive Dawn has indeed progressed from her debut last month. The 3yo daughter of Equiano ran with some encouragement first time out at Yarmouth to finish fourth. However, she looked a different class today as she swept past the leaders and pricked her ears to score by a comfortable two lengths from the Richard Hannon trained Sharg.

This was a great ride from 3lb claimer Nicola Currie who had her mount fairly handy throughout. She let her filly find her stride in the home straight and she picked up nicely, making her rivals look ordinary. Progressive Dawn was a big backward 2yo hence did not see a racecourse until July of her 3yo career. She has rewarded her patient owners with a lovely win this evening and the hope that she can continue to build on her experience and could be a nice horse for the future.

William has his team in great form with this being the 15th winner of the year so far for the yard.
