Glorious win for Soto!
on 01 August 2018

Soto Sizzler broke his maiden in some style when landing the 0-105 'Move Over to Matchbook' Handicap on day 2 of the Qatar Goodwood Festival.

The 3yo son of Mastercraftsman ran well at the track 2 starts ago, finishing a close second. He is a big horse who was always going to progress with age and he certainly looks to be a decent stayer in the making. Rated 79 coming in to today's contest, William was confident of a big run, following some encouraging homework. Carrying just 8 stone, Jimmy Quinn was the obvious choice of jockey and he delivered Soto Sizzler to perfection. He travelled in mid division for much of the race and started to make some headway within the last 3 furlongs. He pulled away from the second horse to win by a length.

He looks sure to get further and with another winter over his back he could be a proper horse next year. However, he is lightly raced with this being just his 5th start, so his 2018 campaign is far from over!

Many congratulations to owner Mr Ian Heseltine and all of the team back at home.
